Two fallen angels, Loki and Bartleby, discover a chance to return to Heaven while stuck in Wisconsin. They plan to exploit a Catholic dogma proclaimed by a progressive cardinal, which states that anyone passing through a consecrated arch in a New Jersey cathedral will receive absolution. However, this event would lead to the annihilation of all existence. The only ones who can stop them are the distant descendant of Jesus Christ, named Bethany, along with the thirteenth apostle Rufus and two mortal prophets, as well as a muse named Serendipity, who works as a stripper.
