Melody Brooks is a sixth grader with cerebral palsy who is non-verbal and uses a wheelchair. Despite her challenges, she possesses a sharp mind and quick wit. With the help of assistive devices and the support of her loved ones, she begins to participate in mainstream education. Throughout her journey, she demonstrates that her thoughts and ideas are significant, regardless of how she expresses them.
